American Forces Targeted a 'Big Facility' in the Venezuelan nation, Trump Stated Without Offering Specifics.

Ex-President Donald Trump has stated that US military assets targeted a "major installation" in the South American country in recent days. However, the ex-leader did not specify the exact purpose or location of the target, and officials have issued no additional clarification from his camp.

Unspecific Comments Made In a Radio Show

"US forces just knocked out – I don't know if you saw – they have a major complex, where the vessels come from. The other night, we took it out. So we hit them decisively," Trump allegedly said to GOP supporter and businessman John Catsimatidis on Friday.

Possible Significance of a Confirmed Strike

Should a US strike were to be verified, it would represent the first attack on Venezuelan soil since the Pentagon began a expansion of American military presence in the Caribbean region to halt narco-trafficking operations that the former administration claims operate under the direction of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro.

The original objective of the force deployment has transformed into a quarantine aimed at hindering the country's crude oil shipments.

Social Media Video and Official Claims

Trump has for some time stated that American military units are poised to expand the operations by attacking objectives inside Venezuela, a strategy that would theoretically require congressional authorization.

Video footage posted online on 24 December appeared to show an explosion allegedly from an industrial area in Zulia state. But, the video or the site in question has not been confirmed by third parties.

An official from Trump's team reportedly informed a media outlet that the former president was referring to a drug facility in his comments.

Response and Current Military Posture

The Venezuelan government has remained silent on the event Trump described. Additionally, there have been no corroborating news from within the country regarding it.

The deployment of American forces in the area – a stance some have referred to as a naval quarantine – marks the largest naval operation of the Trump era.

Administration officials have stopped short from labeling the operation as a blockade, but have acknowledged that around 15,000 personnel are stationed across the Caribbean and the Gulf, including a carrier strike group, advanced fighter jets, and law enforcement vessels to implement current sanctions.
